College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Program
Local area high school students have the opportunity to participate in Cuesta College classes through two program options:
College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Program
- Cuesta College CCAP courses are scheduled at participating high schools during the regular high school day/class period - resulting in a high school transcript and a Cuesta College transcript for one course
- Most courses are taught by the high school teachers during their high school period (referred to as High School Teacher Led CCAP)
- Some courses are taught by Cuesta College faculty online who work in collaboration with the high school teacher (referred to as Cuesta Led CCAP)
- CCAP courses are closed to the public and only available to the students attending the participating high school
- Please see below for a list of courses available at each participating high school
- CCAP courses are completely free for all students to participate including Undocumented/Non-Resident students
Enrichment Program
- Allows students to participate in online or on campus coursework outside of their high school day
- Please visit the Enrichment Program webpage for more information on the Enrichment Program and the Enrichment Registration Steps
College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) Program Information:
With our CCAP program, high school students can be awarded both college credit and high school credit for a single course. Through California legislation (AB288; AB30), CCAP courses are at no cost to the student – including waived enrollment fees and instructional materials such as textbooks. Through our partnerships with local school districts, we aim to provide seamless pathways for high school students in Career Technical Education, preparing for transfer, and college and career readiness.
Why participate in CCAP while in High School?
- Complete high school and college credits at the same time in one high school class period
- Save time and money on your educational journey
- Ease your transition to college in your supportive high school environment
- Most CCAP classes are taught by high school teachers!
In the 2023-2024 Academic Year in partnership with our local area high school districts:
- Over 60 unique Cuesta College courses in over 310 Cuesta College sections were offered
- Over 3,090 local area high school students participated in the program
- High school students across SLO County graduated in Spring 2024 with up to the equivalent of a year of college coursework completed
